Meet Cindy! Low-cost ($40-80) therapy for eating disorders, burnout, chronic illness and more

Cindy Bekkedam is completing her practicum for her Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology with Yorkville University.

Her approach to therapy integrates the mind, body, and soul, drawing from depth psychology, attachment theory, internal family systems, intuitive eating, emotionally-focused, and mindfulness-based approaches.

As a Certified Intuitive Eating Counsellor, Cindy remains grounded in the principles of health at every size (HAES), social justice, and trauma-informed care. She also strives to continually improve her allyship with the LGBTQIA2+ community.

She has an interest in supporting those with eating disorders, chronic illness, ADHD, burnout, and job-related stress who may identify as a high achievers, purpose-driven, gifted, creative, and/or highly sensitive.

Cindy’s diverse background includes working as a Registered Dietitian supporting individuals with eating disorders, working at the management level in a large corporation, and travelling the world as a yacht stewardess. Her varied life experiences have led her to an ever-evolving journey of personal expansion and soul awakening. She expresses herself creatively as a professional photographer and artist, and she enjoys having deep conversations with her close friends, travelling, cooking, and unwinding with her two cats and her supportive partner. 

Cindy identifies white, straight-sized, and cis-gendered. She offers counselling in French and English.
